25 Goals for 2025

“Most people overestimate what they can do in one year and underestimate what they can do in ten years.” – Bill Gates

This quote resonates deeply with me, especially at the start of a new year. Like many of you, I spend the first weeks of January reflecting on who I want to become and what I hope to accomplish. But let’s be real—deciding which version of myself I want to be 365 days from now (or even tomorrow) often leaves me stuck in a rut of indecision.

The good news? I know I’m not alone in this. And neither are you.

After a lot of reflection, I’ve put together 25 goals for 2025. Some are ambitious, others are small but meaningful steps toward a better me. Whether I check off every box or not, I know these goals will help me grow, and I hope they inspire you to dream big for the year ahead.

  1. Visit the Grand Canyon
It’s only a seven-hour drive from Los Angeles, and honestly, I’m embarrassed I haven’t done this yet.

  2. Reach a Goal Weight of 125 Pounds
While I advocate for body positivity, I believe in challenging myself physically. This is more about curiosity than perfection—I want to see if it is possible to get back to my college weight (eight years ago!) and how it feels.

  3. Launch a Blog and Write 52 Posts
This website is step one. Writing every week? Here it goes!

  4. Run a Marathon
Honestly this was only added due to something my brother said, and I do my best work out of spite. I am currently recovering from a cough, but as soon as I can breath and run again, I’m gonna start training.

  5. Visit Africa
A birthday present to myself. I’m probably already behind on booking.

  6. Finish Yoga Teacher Training
I started over a year ago and never completed it. This year, I’m finishing what I started.

  7. Write a 70,000+ Word Novel
I love storytelling, and it’s time to finally turn my ideas into a book.

  8. Find a New Source of Income
My entertainment career isn’t cutting it financially. I just want to be able to afford a place with an in-unit washer/dryer—and maybe a dishwasher.

  9. Max Out My Roth IRA and Save $10k
Automatic transfers are set up, so now I just need to avoid spending sprees.

  10. Become Fluent in Spanish
Thirty years of trying—maybe this is the year it finally sticks.

  11. Complete 365 Yoga Classes
I got into yoga after my physical therapist told me to “take a chill pill.” But like everything in life, I am taking it to the extreme and want to be really good, or at least look really cool while I’m doing it.

  12. Ride in a Hot Air Balloon
Sadly I looked into this, and the balloon festival that happens in Albuquerque is already booked, so will need to find a less cool way to ride in a hot air balloon.

  13. Visit Each Family Member Once
As the youngest of four, my siblings and I have scattered across the globe. It’s time to reconnect.

  14. Read 100 Books (25 Physical)
I love audiobooks and their convenience. But I also want to tackle my physical TBR pile, so 25 must be physical books.

  15. Get a Motorcycle License
To be honest, this idea came about because I was denied renting a moped in Greece. So while I have no desire to own a motorcycle (especially in southern California) I see the benefit of learning this as a skill.

  16. Capture More Memories
I’ve avoided photos for years due to self-esteem issues, but my new nephew has inspired me to document life for future generations.

  17. Clear Out Clutter
My once-minimalist life is now full of stuff. Time to purge and simplify.

  18. Drink 3–4L of Water Daily
Staying hydrated helps with mood, energy, and, of course, more bathroom breaks.

  19. Average 10,000 Steps Daily
Walking boosts health and longevity. I’m just trying to live forever.

  20. Learn to Paint
Painting seems peaceful. I’d love to create art for my home.

  21. Finish My Cross-Stitch Project
Bought during COVID, my Van Gogh cross-stitch has been 10% complete for years. Time to finish it.

  22. Go Outside for 5 Minutes Daily
Nature improves self-esteem, even if I’m in LA’s concrete jungle.

  23. Handcraft All Gifts
No more gift cards! I want to give thoughtful, homemade presents instead.

  24. Try 30 Days of Meditation
I’m skeptical but willing to give it a shot. Who knows? It might surprise me.

  25. No Fast Food
    Homemade fries, here we come.

This list feels overwhelming, but that’s okay. Success doesn’t come from perfect execution—it comes from trying. I’d love to hear your goals and check in throughout the year. While I may not achieve everything, I know I’ll be closer to the person I want to be simply by taking the first step.

Until next time, let’s redefine what’s possible in 2025—together.
